WINE & SPIRITS

After a long day, I deserved to sip this lovely cuvée. The Bending Branch website describes this red wine as follows:

This red blend from the Texas Hill Country was aged over 36 months in 20% new American oak, w/the remainder in neutral French & American barrels. The 2014 Estate Cuvée comes on w/a nose of cherry pie & candied violet, and a translucent magenta color that belies its depth. Laser-focused tart red cherry flavors mingle seamlessly with eucalyptus, cassis & subtle white peppercorn.

I could not have described this delightful red any better. You’ve got to try it!

WINE & SPIRITS

Ok, I’m gonna make Valentines Day easy for y’all. Get your honey a beautiful bottle of wine & tell them you want to spend the evening with him/her ~ just the two of you! BAM! DONE! So, here ya go! My #1 VALENTINES DAY WINE RECOMMENDATION ~ This wine right here. This vino is outstanding & if you haven’t tried the Bending Branch tannat wines you are missing out!!!! Located in Comfort, Texas, it is a stone’s throw from San Antonio, Texas. What are waiting for?! Get out there this weekend & get ready for Valentines Day!

From the Bending Branch Website: This robust Tannat is rich in spicy aromas and complex layers of tart cherry, dark berries, smoke, and leather. Cryo-Maceration extracts substantially more color, tannin and flavor from the skins of red grapes, producing this opulent powerhouse. James Suckling gave a rating of 90 points, and stated it is…. “A big wine that delivers complexity in a riper, heroic style. Brambly red berries and bracken with attractive oak spice on the nose. The palate rolls out a plush mouthful of ripe plum flavor. Concentrated and long. Drink now or hold.” It won GOLD at the 2018 Lone Star International Wine Competition.

Bending Branch Winery Souzão 2015, Siverspoons Vineyard

Bending Branch Winery Souzão 2015, Siverspoons Vineyard

Bending Branch Winery Souzão 2015, Siverspoons Vineyard ~ We served this wine with smoked brisket, potato salad and salad, last weekend. This wine delivers a light fresh flavor.

Portuguese native Souzão, a “teinturier” grape of black skin and red flesh, has long been a favorite of hot weather climates. The blue and black berry fruit, sweet pipe tobacco, and spicy white pepper are balanced against notes of smoke and earthy rhubarb. It is complex, multilayered, and a versatile food partner.
